Amanda
Amanda may have just been a kid at the time we got started but she has been an adored member of the Sweet Manes team. She was there that first day when I brought the minis home and I didn't have a clue what to do. A week before I was to pick up the North Carolina minis, I met Amanda's grandma Pat at the Minnesota State Fair. Pat offered to come over and help me get set up once they were home. Pat and Amanda have been two of my mentors throughout this journey. Amanda is an amazing horse handler and has an understanding with all animals. Our animal whisperer. Like the horses she is growing up, learning new things, and continues to make us proud. Two of the therapy horses came from Valley's Tiny Treasures and the farm Amanda grew up on.
Darlene
Darlene has been a trooper participating in ways that may have been outside of her comfort zone. She has traveled miles in a van to pick up horses or to nearby visits. She stood in below zero winter temperatures ringing the Salvation Army bell. She marveled at how people were so in awe of the horses and got a good laugh when they thought they were stuffed animals or big dogs. She dressed up for Derby Days, visited group homes, and walked miles for the Aquatennial Parade. She has a knack for connecting with people. and she has been encouraging and supportive of Sweet Manes.
